The Association of Finance Officers of the Local Government and Public Enterprises (AFO) was officially recognized by the Macedonian authorities as a non-governmental, professional association in November 1997. AFO was established to:
The Association is comprised of nearly three hundred (300) finance officers from the municipalities and the public enterprises of over 2/3 of the municipalities in Macedonia. The primary goal is to create an organization that will represent all municipalities in the country. Toward this aim, the Executive Board has appointed twenty-four (24) regional coordinators, who work to promote the AFO’s activities and recruit more members. The BASIC COURT VELES, as a first instance non-procedural court, on request of the Association of finance officers of the local government and public enterprises in Veles, adopted the DECISION by the judge Boris Milojkov, for registration of the Association in the registry of Associations of citizens and foundations, on day 22.01.1999 . With this act, the Association IS REGISTERED in the Registry of Associations of citizens and foundations, with number 24/98. With registering in the registry of Associations of citizens and foundations , the Association of finance officers of the local government and public enterprises in Veles, acquires the nature of legal entity.
